CONCRENE™ IS SIMPLY BETTER.
Graphene increases both compressive and flexural strengths of concrete. This makes Concrene™ nearly 40% stronger than its traditional counterpart which has significant advantages, both for the early age properties and long term life cycle of the material.
As a direct consequence of increased strength, 1 m3 of normal concrete would equate to c. 0.7m3 of Concrene™. Manufacturers will cut costs from using less cement, aggregate, additives and steel reinforcement. These savings more than offset the costs of the small quantities of graphene required, a material that is rapidly becoming a true commodity with falling prices.
Using less volume of concrete on site has twofold environmental benefit:
1) Reduced carbon emissions from cement manufacturing.
2) Less heat in the air due to the exothermic nature of concrete hardening.
The addition of graphene enhances the hydration of cement, which makes the C-S-H crystal matrix denser. Consequently, Concrene™ is less water permeable than normal concrete which will require less on-site maintenance in the future.
PERFECT FOR PRECAST.
The precast concrete market will benefit even more than the ready-mix. A stronger product requiring less volume of material improves product performance, lowers production costs and reduces transportation costs.
